I am just joining, following an invitation. I am very newly retired (6 weeks ago) and am so excited about now having the time to follow my passions for embroidery and quilting and learning to really do them correctly. I was super impressed by the entries in the gallery, beautiful work and quite inspirational. Looking forward to the day I can have something to contribute. Thank you for allowing me to join, I think this will be fun! :-)
Welcome, you will absolutely love it here I promise. Everyone here is very helpful and and so nice. Plus they are so funny I am surprised my laptop hasn't fallen to the floor with me from laughing so hard. Post pics of your quilts so we can drool over them!

Congratulations on your retirement. I am eagerly awaiting a break from school, so I can hole up in a sewing room and not come out for days.

Mary, welcome to our family and congrats on retiring. Enjoy your passions and don't forget to share pics of them with us.
Welcome, I am a new one also but love to hear about all the projects the ladies are doing. I read here that someone read that an average quilter buys 106 yards of fabric a year. That is joke. I don't do that much quilting but know I buy more than that. I would hate to really find out how much I buy. Welcome again, Mary.
Welcome to the funny farm. I hope you will jump right in. You'll find everyone so nice, friendly and helpful. And you won't believe the talent! Some days I just sit in wonder at all the beautiful things that are created.

Welcome Mary, this really is a good place to be. I felt the same way when I retired 3 years ago and I have not changed my mind. I also do the embroidery with many of my quilts. So jump right in there and remember, we want to see pictures of the quilts you do too. This is also a great place to get help with any questions you have.
