Some time ago we were discussing retreats and shows.  Looks like some of us are thinking about the Lancaster quilt show in PA next March.  But I am still interested in getting together for a retreat sometime this next year as well.  Retreats are most easily done locally, where one can drive and bring all the sewing gear.

I found a place that specializes in providing space for quilters.  Fairly inexpensive lodging and quilt store all in the same location.  And in Leavenworth WA!  A great, fun place to visit.

Anyone interested?

Patti:
Leavenworth WA!

Patti:

That's just north of me about 291 miles.  I would like to consider attending.  I'll be driving to Alaska in May and spending most of the month there and in Canada, so May would be out.  Early September would be a good time for me.  It will be fun to see what others have to offer for suggustions of time and place.  I like the idea of Leavenworth tho.

Oh dear I'm getting excited and nothing is written in stone.

Does anyone have an extra sewing machine?   Maybe could fly out to meet you guys depending on the cost.   That is if someone could help provide transportation....I don't drive anywhere that I don't know.  Rarely even drive at home anymore.

Nana:  You betcha!  If you don't mind riding in a pickup.  I'd be glad to bring a machine.  Would a treadle be all right?

Just kidding!  LOL

I have several extras Nana.  And I would be happy to drive, but I think your flight would be cheapest if you flew into Spokane (where maybe Gini could pick you up if she's coming) or Seattle (where maybe Joyce could get you)  We have an airport here in the Tri-Cities, but as it is a smaller airport the flights are usually higher priced.    But whatever I can do to help you get here, just let me know.

Thanks Shellie.  Once everyone decides where and when I will see what I can do.  It sounds like so much fun.

patti, i've stayed there with a group of friends once.  we got to shop in our jammies at midnight.  heaven.

the easiest to fly into is seattle and it is about a 3 hour drive from the airport with no traffic.   flying into spokane is a logistic nightmare and is either really expensive and/or involves several layovers coming from the east coast.     then it is at least a 4 hour drive from spokane.

i have an extra machine.     gini

I don't mind riding in a pickup.  That is all my DH and I have....LOL.   Not too sure about sewing on a treadle....got a feeling my legs would wear out before I got much sewing accomplished....ROFLOL>

Gini

I checked into ticket prices.  It is a little over $200 dollars cheaper to fly into Seattle....wow.

Don't worry Nana. I won't be going home until June/July. I just can't afford both trips.

Wow, what a response!  I have an extra sewing machine, and I would be glad to share all my tools.  Nana, that would be great if you could come!  Leavenworth is so much fun too.  One can get a flight from Seattle to Wenatchee which is only a half hour away.  But one way or another, we can arrange to help people get from Seattle to Leavenworth.  I am going to look up a few website about the place and will come back on when I find them.
