Lets see if i can do this.....
Step One - You need a 27" length of "body" fabric (by width of fabric) for a regular sized pillow case (30" for a queen size), 1/4 or 1/3 yd "cuff" fabric depending on how deep a cuff you desire, and a 2" wide strip of accent fabric. Trim all your pieces to the same width hopefully it will be 42" or better. Lay the body fabric right side up on the cuff fabric, matching the raw edges.
Step 2 Press the stripe of accent fabric in half lengthwise and place it on top of the body fabric. Pin all layers together.
Step 3 Roll the body fabric up almost to your accent band. This is your "hot dog".
Step 4 Bring the cuff fabric up and over the "hot dog" and pin the raw edges together. This is your "bun".
Step 5. Sew raw edges together using 1/2" seam.
Step 6. Pull your "hot dog" out of the "bun"
Step 7 Press the cuff away from the accent band and body. Fold pillowcase in half (right side out) matching raw edges. Sew the raw edges together ( L shape) with an 1/8" seam.
Step 8 Trim corners and turn pillowcase wrong side out. Press the edges, pushing the seam allowance to make a nice crisp edge. Sew the same "L" seam, only this time with a 3/8" wide seam allowance.
Step 9 Turn right side out and press. TADA a finished pillowcase with a nice french seam.

I have made several of these. I don't like pillow shams so I buy a fabric that matches my quilt and make pillow cases for my pillows. This is such a fun project.

Steph ) I have seen them done using ruffling for the accen. Wide lace or eyelet looks nice for the accent too. I am thinking about trying them with prairie points for my accent.
