I have acquired a double wedding ring completed top in excellent condition that was made in 1980.  I have sandwiched and trying to figure how to quilt it.  I have not completely decided whether to hand quilt or machine quilt.  Someone told me that because of the bias that I should stitch in the ditch around all the rings before quilting the arcs and center pieces.  Do others feel this is necessary or could I just quilt in the arcs and center pieces 1/4 " from the seams.  I'm trying to keep the quilting simple to go with the look of quilt.

Hi Ellen;

I made a double wedding ring quilt for my cousin's daughter.  I outlined the arcs, and quilted a floral design in the centers.  The bride was very pleased with the results. If I can find a picture of the quilt, I will post it for you.

I would like to see the picture too. I wanted to make my DNL a quilt for their anniversary.
