Oh dear!! I ran out to a local farm to get some strawberries for George today. Passed a quilt shop and, of course, stopped in just for a minute. Saw this quilt hanging on the wall and had to buy the pattern. They used batiks. I'm not a big batik person but it looked so good.

I'm going through my stash trying to put together fabrics for the owls. I love the fall colors used in the pattern (and the sample that was hanging in the shop). But I want something different.

Instead of the dark brown and gold/oranges, maybe dark brown and teals against a pinkish/lavender sky? Would that look too odd? Or tan/teal/pink against a night sky?

I like your color choices, Judy, I think the light lavender background with the teal owls would be great!

Love it!  I would use small scale tone on tones...Maybe a small owl print of some kind as a border????

Everyone. Thanks for your input. I'm really leaning tome tan teal general theme. Flo, good idea about small tone on tone. I'll be using mostly batiks and will keep that in mind.
