Ever since seeing Nana's 301 at the Branson retreat, plus seeing those gorgeous painted Featherweights, I've been cogitating -- not a good thing for me. Well, last week while perusing E-Bay (also not a good thing for me), I fell heads over heels in love. 1956 301a painted royal blue -- my all-time favourite colour. I paid way too much for it, and will pay it out over a few months thanks to Paypal's Pay Later plan. It arrived Thursday and I'm even more in love with it now than when I first saw it.
She's named Michelle -- Mickey as a pet name. The story behind that is this past November my sister and I re-connected after being out of touch for 28 years. Her name is Michelle, although we called her Mickey for the first 6 years, and she was born in 1956. We both love blue.
Wow Brigit Carol, that is a sharp looking machine. Love to hear that you have reconnected with your sister. That is an honor to give the machine a name that has such meaning to you. Ginny
Wow beautiful machine..
Brigit-Caryl. She is a BEAUTY!!!! Wow!! I also loved all those I saw pics of in Branson!! What a beautiful tribute to your Sister also! Have you told her yet!! A tear jerker for me for sure!! Your a special lady! Also, hope your feeling better!! Enjoy that magnificent machine! You only live once!!!
Congrats on both your reconnection with you sister and your new sewing machine. I have a 301a and take it with me to classes I attend. She is a wonderful machine. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. May she give you many years of sewing pleasure.
Congratulations on the two additions to your family. A found sister is a real treasure as is your 301a. It is a beautiful machine and I am sure you will develop a beautiful new relationship with your sister, maybe through the use of this machine. Life is short, we have to live it through the things and people that are important to us.
LIVE and LOVE

B-C she is a cutie, I am jealous! may have to look for a 301 now, oops, don't tell my husband I said that.
"I'm just a poor soul who's intentions are good. Oh, Lord, Please don't let me be misunderstood."
Brigit-Carol, she's a keeper, for sure.
Beautiful machine, Brigit-Carol! Thrilled you're reunited with your sister "Mickey" as I'm sure you are. Hugs to both of you!
