Hi to all,
I've just joined in, from Australia, about an hour from Sydney.
Been quilting for many years but never been on a Forum , so, something new.
Looking forward to meeting lots of quilting friends.
My sister is on her way to Sydney now. Our cousin's will pick her up and she will visit them for a few days, then she will be going to Tazmania.
I have met most of my cousin's from Australia, but have never been there. Perhaps someday.
This is a great group of quilters. Supportive, knowledgeable and very encouraging. And a lot of fun!
Looking forward to hearing more from you.
I hope your sister is ready for the heat!
Look forward to sharing more...

Welcome Annemarie...this is a great site, I think you'll like it here, especially if they get all the glitches ironed out.
just worked our how to put on some quilt pictures, thanks for the incentive!
Now to challenge some other areas.
wow Annemarie. You have some beautiful applique and quilting. Very nice.
Hi Annmarie, this site is full of knowledgeable & fun ladies. I usually just lurk in the background & haven't posted much for a year or so, I'm also from Sydney, well Penrith actually! Enjoy your time here & do watch out because they are a group of enablers. lol
Patti, I hope your sister likes hot weather as it's 39C here today! And tomorrow isn't going to be any better!
Patti:My sister is on her way to Sydney now.
that's nearly 100 degrees F! I think she will be enjoying the sunshine, but if it's humid there, it might be a bit hot for her. Where I live, we sometimes have a week or two when its above 40 C, but it is dry and not too uncomfortable. But in winter it is mostly snowy and below freezing.
Our weather has been way above average throughout winter and spring. we've also had less than 1/4 of our usual rainfall. Bushfires have already been devastating and we expect a lot more now when summer actually starts next month. 197 homes were lost in the Blue Mountains (1 hour from Sydney centre) about 3 weeks ago.
Makes hand stitching the binding to the 3 quilts I have left to finish for Christmas a hot task!
Still, I'd hate to have snow and sleet all winter - is that your climate?
