Hi Carolyn!   Don't be hard on yourself.  I've never even tried the quilt-as-you-go method, so you're certainly one up on me.  I've always thought it sounds like a very manageable technique for anyone who doesn't want to wrestle a big quilt under and through a small domestic sewing machine.

Welcome to QCA!  I hope you'll come chat with us frequently.

Welcome Carolyn.  You will like it here with all of the friendly quilters.

I've been dying to try a Quilt As You Go...I think it would be so much easier, especially on sampler type quilts where you want each block to be quilted differently.  Maybe my next quilt will be the one I get brave enough to try it on...in the meantime, I'll continue to use my frame and midarm or the domestic.

Hello Carolyn and welcome!! I am new to the group too. Just finishing my first quilt - a quilt as you go king-sized bedspread. I designed it with 10 in blocks and strips that were sashed together. How do you do your quilt as you go quilts? Very interested to learn other techniques besides sashing - if there are any.
