Hi all! I went to the Houston International Quilt Show last year with my girlfriend and, as they say: The rest is history! We began quilting together - and made a couple easy quits. They were all same size squares and I called them our 'can't go wrong' quilts. My next step was that I purchased a pre-cut quilt kit and have put it together - just need to quilt it now (very scary). Now I'm ready to go the next step. Have just turned my extra bedroom into my sewing room and I'm excited to branch out into more stages of quilting. This site looks wonderful! I'm anxious to start viewing the How-To videos! I'll be watching for all your tips!
Welcome Gail, you'll love it here. This group is so friendly, caring, encouraging and helpful. I have no quilters that I interact with here (no local guild), but I have many quilting friendships here online.
Welcome Gail. I know you will enjoy your time here. There are lots of friendly people and tons of advice.
Karla's right - you will love it here. It's a wonderful place to be. I'm also a lone quilt but I have some quilting friend on here.

Welcome to the group Gail, I just join, What I have seen here it is a great place to be everyone is so friendly. I can't wait to get back into quilting again. I don't have any friends or family around me. So I am alone as well, I think this is why I haven't been quilting much.
Hi Gail, welcome! You've come to the right place to share your new passion.
Hello, my name is Marla. I live in California. I have been quilting for over 10 years. I love cutting up pieces and putting them all together again to make something beautiful! It is relaxing and therapeutic to me. Quilting is like the old TV commercial, "Calgon, take me away." I hope to be involved in several groups here. Looks like fun! I have been a lurker as a guest for a long time now. I think I have figured out most of the main contributors on the board. Hoping to have some fun!,
Hello Marla, welcome to the gang

That's the same road I traveled. Quilting with a girlfriend is the best, especially because in my case we are equally matched as far as talent and time available.
Sounds like you are now a certified quiltaholic. Welcome to the club!
