Dawn, you just load yourself and that cheese up and come on over here. It's in the mid-upper 40's here (not quite as nice as at Karla's but still pretty).

No we don't Debbie-do.  lol ; - )  Here in Pa it's about 15 degrees with eight inches of snow on the ground with more expected through the night. It's snowing as I type.   All in all we should end up with about a foot (or more)  Temps here will not be over 32 in the next week.  School closed early today and I have a feeling it will be closed tomorrow with the polar vortex arriving and all the drifting and blowing snow.  Highs tomorrow will be below 0.  Oh Marie you were smart to go to Florida.  Enjoy yourself.

All of you with all that snow...could you please take a deep breath (in unison) and blow it back west for us that have none/zero/ziltch!

We are going to have one awful fire season next summer if we don't get some moisture here pretty soon!   Also, this is a tourist area whose economy during winter is based solely on cross-country skiing and snowmobiling.  No snow equals no income for many families!

So everyone...give a good push, nudge, or whatever - and send that snow back here where we would LOVE to have it!!!

Yes, I agree Donna, we are the driest it's been in 103 years...no snow, no rain, and already high fire danger warnings.

Ginny:

Well, how about that, Marie.  I was just sitting here wondering if you family got their flight okay, and you answered the question without me having to ask.  Guess they got back just in time for the deep freeze again.  And the best of all, you got out before you had to go through the deep freeze again.  Lucky you.  Have fun in sunny Fla.    Ginny

Thanks Ginny.  Should I mention I was in the heated outdoor pool today?  duck, duck  :  )  We are headed for a temp drop as well so we took advantage of the pool today.  It'll get into the 50's by the end of this week.  Chilly nights but sunny days.

Thanks Mimi.  These old bones can't take that frigid temp any more.  I've already put a deposit on a place here for next year.  I used to love the four seasons in New England when I was younger but not any longer.  I'm fortunate to be able to escape the winters now.

I just looked to see what are temp is and found it is already -2 degree.  I will be leaving next week for Tucson Az , for my granddaughters birthday , and I am hoping it stays warm.  Everytime I go down there the temp drops and I end up freezing down there.  I really would like to be in some warmer weather.

I am here in the San Diego area we have had dry, dry warm weather for months now.  In the 70 and 80s I am so tired of the drought here.  I actually want some of your cold weather and snow.  Well I think I do.

Quilt, have fun, spend less time worrying if it is perfect.

I am so sorry to hear about so many of you suffering through drought.  That's one of the worst weather conditions in my opinion.  It just figures that if we are having record snow, someone else is getting nothing - law of averages.   If it weren't so blasted cold, I'd run outside to do a rain dance for you.

Hi Ladies

I am making the last minute preparations for my weekend to New York with 3 friends. Very excited although the weather there is a bit chilly. we have packed thermals and plenty of socks. We are sightseeing and of course it would be rude not to do a little shopping. I'm hoping that I can fit in a trip to City Quilters too.

Keep warm

xx

It's what is going to happen this summer that really has us worried.  At least here in WA much of our water comes from Canada, but in CA?  Their snow pack in the mountains is about 8 % of normal!  They will really be hurting if it doesn't improve a lot!
