Here are our 6 grandkids! They got us!! :-)
Dawn, such cute kids. Looks like your won Romper Room Schoolhouse. Were you married when you were 12?? You aren't old enough to have all those grandkids. Or, at least, you sure hide it well if you are old enough! :0
What a sweet picture of a happy family. Ginny
Joni, I have no idea. I planted that several years ago. The blooms were blue last year. Burgundy the year before. This year there have been a total of 7 blooms on this bush. All on one side of it. Here is a picture of the bush.
This bush get a lot of sun in the afternoon. My other gets a lot of shade. The one in the shade (from it, I have gotten tons of blues), is a bit smaller bush but, this year has just bloomed it heart out.
Thanks for the hint Joni. It is worth a try. Ginny
I started cleaning up one of my two sewing areas, which led to straightening out the pantry (my husband throws stuff on my sewing table when he can't find room in the pantry). I was about 1/2 way through cleaning the sewing area, when DD2 called and asked me to take her and her 4 extra large garbage sacks of cans to the recycling center. Since I had 4 extra large bags of my own, I quit what I was doing and headed off to pick up DD2 and off to the recycling center we went. They were very busy today, so 1-1/2 hours later I made it back home and DGS1 begged me to take him to the pool to meet some friends. So, I took him to the pool and since it is 1/2 way to the LQS, I decided to make a trip there and get the rest of my fabric for the red/white/black fabric swap. On the way back from the LQS, I stopped to pick up DGS1 at the pool (you can tell I spent just a little bit of time at the LQS) and now, gee whiz, it's 4 pm and time to start thinking about dinner. Will I ever get the sewing area cleaned up? Probably not today.
Really nice looking group of kids. Hopefully they don't all go to the same parents. I couldn't imagine trying to keep up with 6 kids. You guys have fun.
The color of the blooms usually depends on the soil. If the soil is acidic your blooms are blue if it is more base they will be pink.
Dawn, that is such a nice picture! Lovely grands...and you guys look great too!!

Thanks everyone! Yes we were really young when we got married! (18 and 19) :-) We have 2 kids and they each have 3 kids. Our son hopes to adopt in a few years, the Lord has given them a heart for kids. Both our kids love children and work w/them at church. Our son is a Children's pastor and our daughter leads worship for our children's church. Yep I am a proud Momma!
Diane, IS the fork around the needle screw? It did that to me once and that's the first place I look.

It sounds like you have every reason to be a proud mama.

Well you should be proud. You obviously raised them right. Sweet picture!
On the banks of the Mississippi River in north central Minnesota (Brainerd lakes area)
Angele:Oh Nancy, lucky you! I'm hoping to be able to go to some of the shops, but I'm not sure.
I thought of you today, Angele, when we got to Walker. You've been down that far south quilt shopping, haven't you? I hadn't been to that shop before, but I'd heard good things about it and it didn't let me down - found several cute things to buy there. We were on the road for 12 hours and made it to all 8 shops in the central west section of the state, so we earned eight 1/2-yard cuts of free fabric for finishing.
We'll do two more sections over two more days, and then we'll be qualified for the $500 prize. I can't imagine trying to do all 72 shops in 9 sections to qualify for the grand prize. I would be so burned out.
Anyone else doing the MN Shop Hop?
Sukochi I heard somewhere that the acid in the soil decides the color. I have one the color of yours. It used to be blue.
