I should've read ahead, that would be Betty who suggested the wet Q-tip on seams to remove the paper.

The other part of this question is how do you tear off the paper? This is my first paper piecing.

Zoetc, I also change my stitch length to 1-12 when sewing on paper. Occasionally, I forget though and have found that if I use a tracing wheel (like we used all the time for garment patterns) over the seam a few times, the paper comes right off. Hope that helps.

I meant to say 1-1/2!

I love your stars Eparys! As blue is a colour close to my heart, this really calls to me. I love the many different sizes of stars. This will be a stunning quilt when you are done!

Nancy I love the fabrics you picked for your bag. And your bag looks amazing! What is the name of the pattern if you don't mind to share?

Flip back one page, Angele.  It's posted there.

Yesterday was a productive day, I think, but I really need some input. I have been working a little every day on my wall hanging. Yesterday I was staring at it and did not like the 6" block that was in the center, So, I made another. This one stands out less but I worry that the tiny dark star is too much contrast. It is a 6" star with a 3' and a 1 1/2" star nested inside,

and this is what it looks like between the big blocks -

What I was aiming for was something with interest but not enough that would keep you attention in the center. Did I get it or do I need to go back and do something else?

I think you achieved your goal, Betty.  Looks great!

I did work on a quilt last night. I'm trying to finish quilting my blue quilt and appliqué hearts on a rag quilt. So tonight will be a nice long quilting night. We meet and a friend is making supper.

Here is the small wall quilt I am working on. The center star is my first paper piecing I have done. I have made this for a 14 year old boy, who I am sure will think nothing of it...lol

I worked on this last night and had no idea how I was going to do the back ground, it took me awhile to figure this out. I like the way it turned out. I think for the binding I will use the gray, but I might just use more blue so it will not distract from the pattern. The top will be the one " cowboy's" between the two stars.

I think I will hand quilt most of this, if not all of it.

I like your quilt. Great pattern. I have some Seahawks fabric but haven't been able to decide what to do with it. You've given me some ideas. (by the way, Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl this year. Mark my words!)

Betty

I love your little center star.  It has just enough of the darker fabric to blend with the other darker stars.
