Love your purse nancy. Love the bird fabric. I've never seen a chickadee down here.

When you have something that works well for you, nancy, you just fly with it.

now , me, in order to fly, I have to dust off the broomstick.

Nancy - I guess I am too new to realize what I can do and what I can't!!!! Lol. So far it is working out fine - although I have made more than a few design changes based on fabric availability! Figuring fabric amounts is not yet one of my strong suits. Haha

BTW - I see you are from the Brainerd Lakes area. My sister lived in Backus and we owned property on 371 for a few years that we were going to build on - but it never came about. Pretty area.

eparys:

Linda - WOW - what an undertaking! I played around with Quilt as you Go when I first started. Really a neat concept. Can not wait to see pictures!

I have been trying each day to work on my sparklie blue block wall hanging. I also shopped my stash for a long while to find fabric for Mystery Quilt #9.

This is what I have going so far on the wall hanging  ...

this is going to be stunning.  Great stars.

Nancy – I love your purse (and the fabric) – especially the back pockets!

Zoetc49 – I PP all the time. My small blocks in my blue sparklie wall hanging are all PP. So, because I am “cheap” and do not purchase paper piecing paper which rips nicely, I use basic printer paper. When I remember, I decrease my stitch size to 2.0 before sewing – that helps a lot. Then when ready to remove the paper, I fold the paper at the seam line – creasing it and then slowly tear it off. Sometimes, when the paper is being difficult, I take a moist Qtip and run it down a seam right on top of the stitches. The moisture wicks into the paper at the seam and softens it – then the paper pulls off beautifully with no effort.

Betty, your star wall hanging is beautiful.

MNancy - cute purse -  how big is it?

I like mine to have pockets on the outside, too.  and I'm with you, I change my purse with the seasons unless something special comes along.

Zoetc, someone suggested wetting the paper on the stitching line with a Q-tip for easy removal.  Haven't tried it myself yet but worth a try.
