Good for you kris, now, DETAILS
gini in north idaho
Oh my still not details. Kris your killing me. I have to go to bed soon. Guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow. Night night everyone.
mamagshouse:Kris which one did you get. You lucky girl you.
I got an Innova machine. I've played with quite a few over the years then went to MQX this past weekend and talked to the dealer. I didn't want to make a decision on the spot without talking to DH so they gave me until the end of the week to get the deal they were offering at the show. I got the 18" even though he tried really hard to convince me I needed 22". The head of this machine comes off so it is easy to upgrade without buying a whole new machine. The frame goes low enough that I can sit down to use it (very important for me).
weezee56:Yes Kris, which one did you get, and what kind of paint job are they going to do?
I'm getting it painted blue. My favourite colour.
mamagshouse:Ok this is not fair you tease us with this official longarm announcement and we want details already. LOL..
LOL. Sorry for the late reply Mama G. I work second shift and try to chat between patients. I was busy tonight.
Kris, how wonderful. May you have many hours of happy quilting on your new baby.
I'm so excited for you, Kris! Good luck and lots of happy quilting with your new Innova!
Candis - she answered all those questions in a past post! :)
Karla - sorry to hear about hubby and glad it was not a break of any kind... falling at our age can be dangerous..
I am working this week on my Autumn Baltimore Album - I hope soon to be posting a picture of the finished top - I have no idea as yet what I am going to use for a backing fabric - can't use the scraps from this one as there are none... I am thinking I am going to start looking for a flannel with tons of leaves on it...background a brown I think - I'll know when I see it.
Congratulations Kris on your buy... I have held off on buying one for years as with my health I just can't see myself spending that kind of money if I wasn't going to be able to use it every day or at least week and my case that would be the case...although I have enough tops to quilt - but my domestic machine will do for a long time yet - unless of course I win the lottery and have money to burn... but I am very happy for you!
Sorry only saw the answer Kris just gave a few posts up! congrats Kris! I know you will have many hours of Joy from Her. I have a Viking 18 , now I want a paint job! See what you've done! Ohhh, maybe purple! Lol can't wait to see yours!
I did work on a quilt today. In fact, I finished it!! (Happy Dance)
This one is for the annual goat rescue farm fundraising auction. I make a quilt every year. It's always been a goat or chicken theme. Because the Seattle Seahawks won the super bowl I decided to do a Seahawk using a pattern from Counted Quilts. I modified it a bit. I changed the 0 on the shirt to a 12 in honor of the 12th man and added different borders.
In the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
Kris that sounds wonderful. Blue is my favorite too. What size frame are you going to get?
Oh Judy that is so cute!I bet the money will poor in for that one. let us know what u make off it!
Judy my sister-in-law would die for one of these. Did you use a pattern or did you design it yourself.
Kris you lucky girl you on your new baby. My husband works nights but not in the medical field he's a transportation specialist. lol Truck Driver I have so many things on my wish list. I really want the Brother Dream Weaver XE. I like Brother machines cause they are so user friendly. I have the open toe free motion foot that I am practicing with and getting used to. I can only drool for the moment at longarms. The good thing about me getting back into all this is my 11 year old daughter who really is a tom boy. She loves hiking, shooting, rock climbing, etc. Really loves the needle arts. She hates school but when I told her she could take these classes in school and in college she was extremely excited. Only time will tell if she continues with it.
Hi Thea. Hope you are feeling somewhat better today. I have health issue also. Since the website is being funky lately I hope you got my friend request.
Thanks Candis and mamagshouse.
Candis, I don't get anything from it, I donate the quilt for the auction. My daughter volunteers at the goat rescue farm and each year batts her eyes at me for a quilt for the auction.
Mamagshouse, the pattern is on countedquilts.com. There are lots of different patterns, each packet has three sizes. The website is a bit odd. To see all the patterns you need to click on "personal order" then you can click on "All A-Z"
They are fun to make although it took me awhile to figure out the pattern directions. Once I had it figured out, it was very quick and easy.
I finished the first of two baby quilts for twin girl cousins due in June. This is the first time I made a quilt using a kit. With all the different tone-on-tones needed it was just easier to use the kit than to find all the fabrics. It's quilted with bunnies and flowers.
