I, too, have a charm pack of fossil ferns...maybe I'll dig them out.

Of course I'm in for a block  for Marge!  I do know her favorite color is blue, but further than that, I am drawing a blank.  Let me give it some thought over-night and see what I can come up with.  Agnes may have some ideas too!

Karla, thank you so much for offering to do this!  I am such a slow quilter it would have been next year (if ever) before I would get one done for her...lol!  I do have an idea for a special center block.  I will pm you...but think I need to do a friend request first.  So, please be on the look-out...

Can someone that is much better than me at doing searching on QCA search the Leavenworth Retreat posts for 2011 & 2012 for the quilts Marge P completed there?  That might give us a clue as to some of her color preferences.

I know she has been doing some of the mini-Calendar Block Kits along with Kris, but those don't really show a person's personal preferences very much.  At least other than the changes one might make.  I am thinking the quilts she worked on at the Retreats might give us some clues.  I know she is more of a traditional quilter (not into art quilts or machine embroidery) and does wonderful piecing. The snow and ice dyeing interest is new for her, but still she is thinking of how she is going to use those fabrics in a "pieced" quilt.

Hope this helps a bit...

I will be happy to do another block. I don't have FF, but would hope other batiks would work too. If she loves Blue, why not do a quilt in blues and whites?

Could we make a larger block if there aren't as many of us? I like the idea of blue and another color with all of us doing that color and whatever blue we have.

Donna

I checked thru last year's Leavenworth pics and could only find 2 baby quilts that Marge made.   Not much help....

Blue and white is always a classic.

What about 12" blocks for Marge, add sashing and a border and you can have a decent lap quilt with only 12 blocks.

Right now we have 13 people volunteering to do blocks.  I think a 12" block would be perfect.  I was thinking maybe sunshiny colors...her blue and maybe creams and yellows to set it off.  What do you think?

Somehow I messed that up...blue and white would also be great...I have a lot of blue and white fabric....and it is a classic.

Can the white be a solid?  I have lots of blue but very little white that isn't solid.

Karla, I would like to do a  block also. I love doing these blocks for people that so need a hug.

I don't see a problem with using solid white.

Blue and yellow makes a very cheerful quilt. Karla you decide and we'll get busy making the blocks!
