Karla, I think it looks wonderful the way it is.  It's absolutely beautiful.  Are you thinking of a border to tie it together or not?  Do you need anymore $ for backing, binding and batting?  Let me know if you do.  It is truly stunning.  Thanks for all you work with this.  Marge P will certainly be wrapped in all her quilty sisters love and hugs as she recovers.

Thanks, Mimi, and thanks to all that contributed a block.  I haven't decided if I'm going to use a border, or just bind it.  I hope to get it put together, maybe tomorrow.

All the blocks look great. I think if you decided to do a sashing I would think a navy blue or maybe a white fabric, and narrow like 1", just to give a little separation between the blocks.

You're the designer at this point. Do whatever it says to you. Marge will love it no matter how it is finished.

Karla

I think it will be fine without a sashing.  The blocks look fantastic together.   And I agree if you use a sashing it should probably be white.

Karla, like everyone else, I think the layout is great and like Jacy and Nana, I'd put a 1" sashing of white just to separate the blocks if you have a mind to.  Your call.  Thanks again for putting this all together for Marge.

Karla:

You can't quite see all of the blocks, but the bottom right block is the flower basket block.  The LQS has lots of antiques in it too, so the old piano is block the very bottom last block, but I didn't have the heart to remove everyone else's work from the wall.  Thank goodness my tall grandson (6'3" and only 14 years old) went with me to place the high blocks, because I would never have gotten it all on the wall.

I don't think I will use a sashing unless I use white, because the blues I tried all disappeared into at least some of the blocks.  Do you think it will be OK without a sashing?

Karla, I just now am seeing the beautiful quilt for  MARGE, I LOVE IT ,YOU DID A FANTASTIC JOB.   THANK YOU SO MUCH I JUST KNOW SHE WILLLOVE IT.

Glad you like it, Barbara, and glad to see you back with us.  I've got it sewn together without sashing, and now I'm deciding whether I want a border or not.  In the meantime, I finishing MQ6, which is on my frame and I need to get it done and off, so I can finish this one soon.

Karla, I love the quilt top. Did you decide to put in sashing or leave it out. Either way it is a stunning quilt!
