I've been absent from QCA for some time.  Missed this news.  To Marge P:  Sorry to hear about your trials with the healing process.  Here's hoping things improve quickly!

Donna B and Patti:  Just heard about the fire up your way.  May the storms bring enough rain to save the day!

UPDATE FROM MARGE'S NIECE:

About 10am this morning, Marge was being prep'd for transport to Spokane.  Currently (12:40pm PDT),  she is still in transit to Spokane but should be arriving soon. She is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning.  I/we do not know any details of what the orthopedic tumor specialist will be doing in the surgery, but trust that she is in good hands.

Marge's niece spoke to her this morning shortly before she was loaded into the ambulance.  She had recovered from the initial shock of yesterday's news, was in good spirits, and had bounced  back to her usual optimistic self.  Quote:  "The doctors have a plan to deal with this and I am very thankful for that. Now let's get to it!"

Keep those prayers coming...

Patty, so far we are doing fine up here.  Most of the major fires are south of us.  We do have more T/storms coming in tomorrow and this weekend, but they usually don't have much rain with them.  Maybe a cloud-burst for a few minutes, but that's about it.

Thanks for thinking of us!

What a great attitude!  Between that and her faith, I believe she will do well!  Thanks for updating us.

She'll be just an hour away from me, I'll have to try and visit her, I wonder how long she will be there.

Jacy, I know she would really appreciate that!

I know the plan is to bring her back to Colonial Vista Rehab in Wenatchee as soon as possible, but I don't know exactly how soon that will be.  My best guesstimate would be 5-7 days...but with a second surgery this quickly...not sure.

As soon as I know that she can have visitors after surgery, I will post here to let you know... also, where she is (I don't know the specifics yet myself).

It's hard to find threads on here after they get buried for a couple of days.

I went and visited Marge yesterday while she was here in Spokane near me. She was looking pretty good and in good spirits. It sounds like the specialist redid the rod in her leg to a better location where there was healthier bone, and now she can put 50% weight on that leg, last time I think it was 5% weight allowed. She had been up and walked a little, I think it took a lot of effort though. She was hoping to get sent back to the rehab place in Wenatchee possibly today, or maybe tomorrow. She is still planning to come to the Oregon retreat, no running she said, but moving good enough to get around.

Jacy, thanks for posting your update!  Her niece said she was really looking forward to your visit yesterday when she talked to her.

Apparently, I got the days mixed up (or I was misinformed...it was probably me) but her surgery did happen on Friday morning...bright and early.  The surgeon was very pleased that he was able to use Plan A  (even though he had a Plan B & C ready...just in case). Meaning that the surgery went the best he could have expected! As Jacy said, being able to put 50% of her weight on that one leg is a really big deal...and that was within 24 hours of the surgery.  And with 2 legs, each supporting 50% sounds very good to Marge!

I just tried to call her in Spokane and the lady who answered her bed phone said there was no one in that bed anymore...so that means she is in transit back to Wenatchee.  That also is a really good sign as the orthopedic tumor surgeon has released her  to normal care.

I will try to reach her in the Rehab center this evening.
