When I am quilting, or doing any sewing I use two pin cushions.  One on my work area where I do my pinning and one by my machine.  That way I am not having to move my pin cushion around all the time.  When the one at the pinning area is empty, then I switch them around.

Good idea.  I have several pincushions. One by each machine one at home for my appliqué, one in my traveling appliqué kit. And one that holds my pins for my pinmores.  Heaven forbid I should have to move a pincushion with me.

Gini

I tend to have pin cushions all over my sewing room as well.   When sewing in the living room I have a bad habit of using the arm of the couch for my pin cushion...LOL

Hey Mary I do the same thing. I also have one by my chair in the living room where I do all my hand sewing.

I did this today while sewing, and it makes it so much easier.
