the quilts posted so far are so pretty - I think our judges are going to have a very difficult time voting!

Nana, I love your quilt.  The colors are beautiful and the pattern was perfect for that swirling fabric.  Great job.

Judy, your quilt is great.  What a fantastic way to use (hide?) the slug fabric.  Very creative block choice.

Judy J,

your quilt is fantastic. I really like it. That fabric was a challenge and I wondered what could possibly be done to make it look good. You did a great job. SO much movement there. Nice job on the pieced border too.

Judging this contest is going to be difficult.

Judy, I thought your lava slugs fabric was absolutely dreadfull.  But you found a way to use slugs and colors to really make a wonderful quilt.  I love how the colors fade in one to another, and the use in the border is fantastic.  I think this is the best transformation so far.  From very, very ugly to WOW!

With my daughter's arrival, I had to show her all the quilts I have been working on.  Her comment to my unfinished ugly fabric quilt was, "that's ugly."  Now my husband thinks two of the 4 fabrics I picked to go with it are also ugly. They like the pattern, but not the fabrics.

I take my daughter back to Seattle on Monday, then hopefully I will have time to finish it on Tuesday, then can post.  One way or another, I will get it posted before the deadline.

Judy Johnson:

Here's my ugly fabric quilt. I've posted it on the contest entry thread as well.

This was lots of fun. I'm going to keep this one after all, rather than giving it to charity. The block is Brave World with the lights and darks reversed compared to the traditional block. It measures 50x60 as required for the contest, but I think I will add another border of the red/orange fabric. Now I'll have to think about how to quilt it.

Where is the contest entry thread at??
