Hello everyone, just joined today after reading about an upcoming mystery quilt.  My name is Jeanne and I am from Southern eastern PA.  I am not new to quilting having been quilting for about 12 years, but no where near being truly "experienced".    I am always open to learning something new and hope to cyber meet a lot of new friends.

I am also a newbie to the quilter's club. I also was born & raised in Berks County, PA. The people on this site are great. I enjoy reading their posts. My goal is to master the Amish  & hex designs.

Welcome!!

I was born in Berks County - Reading but we moved to Pottstown when I was 4.  I am now back living in Berks County.  Good luck with your Amish and hex designs.  I am willing to try just about anything.  Have you ever gone to the Kutztown Folk Festival for the quilt auction?  I go every year with my friends.  Just love it.

jedinger,  I went to the Kutztown festival once about 1981 or '82.  I loved it also and the quilts that were for sale were very reasonable.  There were so many and they were all beautiful.  Unfortunately, I didn't buy one there and have regretted it ever since.  I have always wanted to go back but didn't have anyone to go with me. I know the prices wouldn't be as good now as they were then, but nothing is.    Ginny

Welcome Ardis and Jeanne.   My husband is from Norristown.  I love the area, but not the traffic.

I lived near Mohnton. In 1973 we moved to Ft. Myers FL. I like to go back to visit, but not during the winter. I have been to the Kutztown Festival.

I'm sure you will love this site. Many great people here!

Actually the prices on the quilts for sale in the barn are really not so bad, especially considering the work involved with some of them.  However, the quilts that are auctioned off really generate a lot of money.  Love to see the bidding wars on them.  Last year my boyfriend, who is a long haul trucker and actually lives in Texas, was here and  he went with me and my girlfriend and loved it.  He said if he is here next year over the 4th of July he wants to go again.

I  have lots of pictures from over the years of going there.
