MNnancy:

I'm so relieved I'm not the only one who lost CC.  I even emailed Nana to ask her to message CC for me to ask if she had somehow blocked me from seeing her messages.  I thought maybe I had hurt her feelings or something.

Not a chance Nancy!! You're stuck with me.

chocake2:

WHoooHoo! I'm Ba-a-ack!!!!!

Thanks Marie. I don't know what you did, but it worked.

CC, exactly where DID you go?? Inquiring minds want to know.

I was exciled!! I've not a clue where I was or why I was there, but apperently I was naughty and they banned me. Every time I tried to log I was informed that access was denied to Chocake2.  Sad sad me...   If someone will tell me what I did that was so awful that I needed grounding all weekend, I promise I won't ever do it again!!!!!

OOFta. I've been catching up on all the posts i missed while i was in Siberia, and I'll never get them all replied to directly. Instead I'm opting for the direct route"

Bonita, You DGD is bee-utiful!

Nancy, I wish I'd won the tickets to that feast! Sounds fantastic!

Thea, Please be OK. I'm praying the tree did minimal damage and the storm passed without greater distruction.

Wendy, My SIL was just in a half marathon hike in Ogden. Do you suppose you were in the same one? She didn't mention any rain...

Spud, get over that nasty strep ASAP. Praying for ya.

Leslie, thanks for the flowers. They are beautiful.

Jaci, the Smileberries are on page 156-157....somewhere in there.

UnDad passed away late last Sat. We had his memorial on Friday. I hadn't actually seen un-brother since he came to my Mom's memorial, and we rarely ever get to talk, so it was rather bitter-sweet to be together. All it took was one look at each other and we both started sobbing in the rain. I'm afraid I got boogers all over his shoulders.

I was getting myself together, and looked up to see my actual brother crossing the cemetary toward us. He'd hopped on an early AM flight to be here for the service, and flew home again that night. I can't tell you how much it meant that he came, even tho he had only a passing aquaintence with UnDad. 'Guess he just knew I'd need him. (His wife may never let him live down that bill on their credit card!)

UnDad was buried at the vets cemetary with a reception at the service club afterward. My other UnBrother (Different part of the family- no kin to any of us) is in the Nat Guard. He didn't hear about UnDad's passing as he was out on training all week. He got back and decided to pop into the service club for a quick bite of lunch, so it was quite by accident that he was there.  DH has taken it hard. I think it was as much, if not more, of a comfort to him that we were all able to share a table full of memories.  UnMom seemed relieved to have us all together, too. Of course, UnDad's actual kin (with the exception of UnBro) all looked at us like we'd gone completely bats when we got to giggling over our odd gathering. Leave it to UnDad to get all of my guys together under one roof... and make us laugh over it.

CC, we missed you!!!  I searched for your posts and all had been removed!  Now they are back!  I did see your smileberries in my email, they couldn't reach those and delete them, but unfortunately I HAD deleted the ones before that.  I usually connect to the thread from the email then read from there.  When I am done, I go back to the unread emails and delete them.  This time, I left the last day's emails thinking that I might find your posts there.  I had deleted all but one, but got the pictures that others had reposted of Sprout.  He is growing so fast!  Have "fun" catching up on all you missed.  I was 2 weeks behind and am exhausted from reading what I missed.  Hug Sprout for me.  Our 10 month old greatgrandson has only a few more hairs on his head.

By-the-way, you weren't naughty, those pranksters were!  Some how they got you mixed in with them.  So glad you are back.  We miss the antics of your family and animals.  Hugs to all of you.

CC sorry to read about your undad  t&p going out for your family.

I went to cemetary and casino today, what a combination I know but i was passenger and enjoyed the day out..  As for brothers cemetary there were droves of mosquitoes so bad we had to run for the car.  A real shame drive all that way and stay maybe 5 minutes it was that bad.  My other brother who goes every year said he'd never seen such a thing with the insects.

Now at the casino ...luck just wasn't with me today but only stayed there about hour and a half.

No rain yet to cool the really high temp today , but i'm hoping for rain.

For those who asked - I am well north of the damage that went on today - We got hit Saturday night in the storm that went through northern oklahoma - kansas - missouri - yesterday the tornados that went through Shawnee Oklahoma went less then 1/4 mile from my inlaws house... they got lots of branches down like we did but nothing more...

Today the storm that hit Moore has just been so saddening... the kids were in school and the doors were locked and they thought they were safe doing what they had done many many times before - who knew that a tornado was going to build from nothing to a level 5 in less then 1 hour... there are still children missing inside the school - sadly 7 drowned so far in the basement when the school filled up with water and they could not get out - we are not sure about between 20 and 30... please pray as hard as you can - there were some heroes for teachers - the pulled a car out of the hallway and under it was a teacher laying on top of 3 students - all okay - another teacher took 6 students in the bathroom and laid on top of them - all okay -

The tornado today was 2 1/4 miles wide...we have been sitting here in Enid where it was sunny all day long and no wind at all - just wondering what was happening... it has not been good...

I thank you for all the prayers you have said for Oklahoma - please pray hard as the possibility for storms still exist for tomorrow - ask the Lord please to have them dissipate all over the country - no more tornados please...

We felt the down drafts Saturday night and it took me back to 1989 when we lived through 140 mile an hour winds going over our heads during Hurricane Hugo - and hundreds of tornados all night long - it was dead of night and I watched transformers blow and send up very beautiful fireworks all night long - we woke to devistation - this storm in Oklahoma today was less then an hour in the making and left such devastation...

I am just in shock!

Thea, I am very thankful that you are OK and at least for now out of harms way.  I have been thinking of you and praying for your safety since Saturday.

When I heard of the Moore tornado just a little while ago, I immediately thought of Barbara, but then realized she lives near Kansas City, not Oklahoma City...but we haven't heard from her since Saturday!  Do you know what is going on with her?  That is not like her to not post for two days without saying anything...

T&P for all of you in the plains states!

Thea, I am with you, in shock!  I cannot watch the devastation on TV.  It was about 15 miles south of us, and devastation is worse than May 3 tornado.  one of the newscaster, I heard him on the radio, said this was the worse he had seen in 15 years of reporting in Oklahoma.  He compared it to a nuclear attack!

Please keep the families affected by this in your prayers, still too many missing and unaccounted for and especially the children.  Lots of newer houses in the area hit and two schools took hits but from what I can gather, one was hit harder and they are still digging out from the debris.  Last count I received in text from news updates was 51 dead.

Lord, be with those families who were in nature's way today, with those who have lost loved ones, who lost their homes and everything and with those searching and giving care.  Amen.

there is an okiebarb that lives further south buit not as far south and east as the damage, I think.  will need to check and see if she's ok.

CC - what is an unDad?  I just never heard that term before and so can not fathom the relationship.  I had to ask!

I rode along with DH today to Wenatchee in our old subaru with 280,000 miles on it, and look what I drove home!  2014 subaru forester.   Just a base model without the extras, so it cost less than the used subarus we had been looking at.
