I got locked out of the last thread trying to compliment your Maxine quilt, Michelle! You did a great job. Is Minky hard to sew with?

Thanks Debbie! I don't think it's hard at all. I'm careful putting the stretch going side to side or east-west as someone said prior. Then I usually don't put the clamps in the sides of my long arm. That way it stays true. It is very forgiving on ANY mistakes! And the back always looks great. I'll take a picture today of the back.
Michelle, your Maxine quilt is really nice and your quilting is great! Thanks for the east/ west for the stretch on the minky info. I thought I read that in one of the threads.

Here's a pic of the backing. It's plain green minky, the minky has small "bubbles" on it. Not sure what to call those. Feels like bubble wrap. It loves to be quilted on. Any good ideas on taking pictures of your quilts for a quilt journal ?
Marie
The direction of the stretch is important when having it quilted on a longarm. If you are doing your own quilting on a DSM it doesn't matter which way the stretch goes because the whole quilt is pinned or something before you start your quilting.

debbie i love mixing minke, flannel and regular cotton in baby quilts for the texture it gives. it quilts up beautifully. it slips a bit when piecing, but i just pin it when it doesn't co-operate.
i see we have cybergremlins today.
Not seeing those gremlins this afternoon. What did you spy?
Never mind - I see your double post.

Michelle:I finished up my Maxine quilt today. Has Minky on the back, sooo soft! I used this one to practice a different quilting pattern on each block.
I love it Michelle. Nice work.
Michelle, love your Maxine quilt and the backing is so pretty. I used Minky on the back for the one I made DGD. Makes it so soft.
Not yet today, but going to continue on my Sugar Block Club by Amy Gibson. Yesterday, I finished my February Crafsy BOM block. This is my year to do the quilting on all my finished quilt tops, but I must quit starting new ones lol!
Happy Lincoln's Birthday! Happy Fat Tuesday, eat lots!
