Hi everyone, my name is Judy and i have just become a premium member. I am originaly from Harlan KY but now live in Jacksonville FL. My mother was a wonderful seamstress and quilter. I am now trying to teach myself to sew and quilt so that I can pass this tradition on to my daughter. I've pretty much got the sewing down as I have made a queen size quilt top, and a few pillow quilts. It's the quilt sandwich, basteing and quilting I have so many problems with. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and learning from you as well.
Hi Judy, happy to have you with us

Hello! Great to meet you! You will find wonderful people here who are very helpful and talented! Please post pics we love to see them!
Welcome Judy.
You will love it here. There are a lot of you tube videos that can help you with basting and sandwiching. Leah Day has really great videos on free motion quilting also. Can't wait to see some pictures of your quilts.

Hi Judy! Welcome to QCA. The YouTube suggestion was a good one, or you might ask if there are any classes at your local quilt store, or if you can find an experienced quilter, she/he might be willing to come to your house to help you with one and get you on the right track. Oh, there are some very good books, too. Go to Amazon and look up "free motion quilting." Many of those start with an explanation of the sandwiching/basting steps.
Good luck, have fun, and post here any specific questions you may have.
