Hello everyone I am new to the club and look forward to learning and exploring every inch of the pages provided.
I am a self taught quilter who has been a truck driver for 16 years. I am finally in a position to quilt while home on the weekends. I recently finished a pieced quilt with 50 pictures of family for my mothers 71st birthday. I love to hand quilt the designs so it took a long time working on the weekends. I finished the day of just in time. I am now quilting a baby quilt for my new granddaughter who will arrive in April. My biggest issue is staying focused on one thing at a time. My husband bought my the Accuquilt cutting system for Christmas and my brain is going 90 miles an hour with all the ideas and it is hard to sit down and finsh the quilt without wanting to cut some shapes for the next project.
I look forward to getting to know you all through the forums and learning from each and everyone of you. Happy Quilting

Welcome! I also like to hand quilt, it does take time, but I do think it is worth it. Glad you found us and please post pics of your quilts, we love to see what others are doing!
Hello Laura and welcome...I think there are a lot of us self taught....hand quilting? That is too cool....I do the fast route...by machine.....but oh that hand quilting is awesome! Can't wait to see pics!
I'm pretty sure I said Hi on another thread but it does not hurt to say it twice :) Hi and nice to meet you!
Life is like a quilt...bits & pieces, joy & sorrow, stitched with love
Wow Laura. You mean you finish one project before you start another. How do you do that? I must have at least 5 or 6 projects that I am actively working on right now. And we aren't even going to start counting those that I am not currently working on...LOL>

Welcome Laura, I'm new to the site also and have really been enjoying it. Staying up too late as I try to find everything on the site. ha Nana you sound like me I have so many unfinished projects some never started or barely. I have about 10 quilt tops that need to be layered and quilted. Some day.

hi laura.....I think if we stop looking at pics and they stopped printing magazines we would get 1 thing done at a time....but probably not ...so we'll just keep stacking up the projects......love it here you will too.
