I told DH I am ready to take mine down also, but I'm trying to hang in there.
Quilting My Rainbow
Ginny I suggest thrift stores like salvation army or let me know I have some 24" ones to spare.
I'm alone for the Christmas season and i can't go any simpler than this. Made this back in 2000 and has hung every year since though other things have gradually downsized to the point that this is my only decoration.
Agnes, this is beautiful. I think I would keep it up ALL year.
Love your counted cross stitch piece Agnes. You certainly did a beautiful job. Do you still do a lot of this kind of needlework. I find I'm doing less and less as my eyes mature.
Just finished!
Beautiful Agnes. Last year was the first in awhile that we decorated, we did not stay home but went to the kids for Christmas, so I did not see the need. I did put up my Nativity every year and last year when I was feeling so awful I put it up and left it up, I like looking at it :)
Life is like a quilt...bits & pieces, joy & sorrow, stitched with love
Annie, now THAT is a big tree. How tall is that, anyway??? Really nice tree. I love lots of lights.
I haven't decorated anything since my Mom passed 6 years ago. When we were still up north, Mom decorated since she lived with us. Christmas is just another day of the year for us since we are alone. DH and I like it that way. No one understands his PTSD when it comes to crowds of people and he hated going to his family's on Christmas Eve with almost 40 people there. He spent most of the time outside having a smoke. We have a nice dinner at home and enjoy each other.

Frances here is our tree:
Here is our Christmas card;)
Zsofia
Very cute Zsofia, love the card!
Great pictures , Zofia. It looks like you have a real tree. Ginny

It's 9 ft that I bought in costco a few years ago. way too big for my small house. But I love it because it has lights.
Funny how things bought in Costco look way bigger when you get them home.

Diana I understand your husband's PTSD. I have it too and I'd rather stay home if my family won't come see me. At least at home I can sew, takea nap or anything I want rather than sit there trying to be nice to someone I don't know. Did you notice at the retreat that I mostly sat by myself? It wasn't that I didn't want to talk t o you girls but I was having a PTSD episode that weekend. And now I don't even know why. /the weekend of my family reunion i had an epidsod and didn't go to the reunion. /but I get tired of hearing peple telling me to get over it already. Hugs Linda
