Have you seen the new CIVIL WAR BLOCK OF THE MONTH QUILT ? ( I think it is MARCUS BROTHER FABRIC, but I am not sure) I have been seeing the patterns and the fabric in all the LQS. From what I understand some of the suppliers who are carrying the pattern, fabric and kits had to reorder everything because they sold out. Of course everything is on back order.
Just wondering what you think of it. I personally like the blocks but I do not care for the fabric... I do not like kits as I want control over picking out my fabrics.... but then I would probably end up doing the blocks in Brights/ Blenders/ Tone on Tone and maybe Batiks... Wouldn't that be a kick. I like the quilt Lady Rags. I think you should do what you like. It will work. If you decide to do it I hope you share it with us.
I haven't seen this quilt. Where did you find it? Sounds kind of neat.

That quilt is very pretty. Like I need another quilt to make....LOL
Nana,
this is one of the BOMs I had to make myself say no to.
As yet I have avoided BOMs. I don't know if it will last because I have seen some really beautiful ones out there.
Kris, that is a beautiful quilt.

Kris,
Do you know the name of the pattern company and the fabric house ... I lost my notes and I need to publish the information in the newsletter.
Thanks
Lady Rags
Lady Rags, it's Marcus Brothers fabrics. It's called Civil War Tribute Collection and BOM program.
Thanks for the quick response! I tried looking it up on google but I did not have enough information to get the correct response.
The more I look at it the more I want to do it. I better get cracking on the BOMs I already have.
kris and lady rags, this is a beautiful quilt. some of the blocks we are making in the sylvia class. i think it would be beautiful in most any colorway. gini

This quil is right up my alley.Love traditional, reproductions, I dont usually do kits because I like choosing my fabrics altho I have done one Thimbleberries and I have another one to do in the far distant future
Carol - if you love civil war quilts you should get and read the book - I was given it about 5 years ago and the stories in the book are great. You would enjoy it. I am not really into that color wave from that period. I have made 2 quilts from those materials though and that is enough for me - i have found I like more of the pastels and brights...
I made a quilt that was similar to that one a couple years ago - one of my UFOs that is done but needs to be quilted. It is even basted...lol the dark colors depress me though so it is hard for me to get excited about quilting it but it will happen this year.
