I found a simple pattern in the new connecting threads catalog but it is made with flannel fabric which is okay but I also seen some green cotton fabric I wanted to use. Would it be okay to use them both in the same quilt? Please help.

Thanks Gini and Thea.  I plan on making my expected GGS some quilts with flannel and minkee backs.  In the washer and dryer they'll go.

I too have used both flannel mostly for backing and the people I gave the quilts to reported no problems with washing them in their home machines. I didnt prewash fabrics either but it was the good quality flannel from quilting store not Joann's or Walmart etc. They probably tend to shrink more I would think.
