I washed and ironed all my fabric, I read the instructions carefully, and then I cut my fabric. After some cutting, I noticed I didn't have enough fabric. What? You guessed it, I folded the fabric incorrectly. -SIGH- now I have to buy more fabric. What a shame.
Hi LeftyLou. Yeah it is a shame when we have to buy more fabric, LOL. But it is still frustrating when we make mistakes like that

Yep been there so frustrating when you dont have the extra funds but fun when you do makes you go to quilt store and browse the delicious fabrics again hehe.
Ah, perhaps that is one quilting excuse for buying more fabric.
Welcome, LeftyLou
Welcome,Lou! I have done that also, only to find out the fabric is no longer selling UGH! Hope you enjoy your time here with us. Tell us a little about yourself??? Susan

EAT!! SLEEP !! QUILT!!
Hi Leftylou, welcome to the group. As for the cutting, been there, done that, and will probably will do it again. It still is very frustrating. Hope you get some great finds at your LQS. Oh by the way, my friend was going across the lake when the wind picked the lid off and parts of her fabric AND her pattern are now at the bottom of the lake... So back to our LQS to get more stuff!

I have learned over the years to check it out - to look closely at what I am cutting - I no longer measure once or twice but I look at it 3 times.
It is not so bad if the Quilt shop you bought it at still has it - or you have the funds to go splurge on some more fabric. In my case the store is 30 minutes away or the fabric was one from my stash that has been out of print for at least 3 years...lol... so in order to not come up short - which I have many times - I check and recheck and recheck again.
Have fun at your LQS.
Welcome Lefty. Don't feel bad about your mistake. The experts make them too and those of us who are not experts make them....we're human. Look at the bright side....you get to go to the fabric shop again! And I'm sure you can salvage that fabric for another project. Now aren't you glad you joined this club??
Hugs,
