I am a beginner and could use some expert advice.  I have a printed panel with 4 pictures on it.  I want to outline each picture on the panel but also want to do some cross hatch on each of the pictures.  The question I have is this, do I outline each picture first and then cross hatch or vice-versa?

My gut says to outline first but the panel is really beautiful and I don't want to mess it up - any and all advice would be most welcome!!

Hi Moquiltergirl,

I would definitely smoothe out the panel as flat as possible and then secure it by outlining first. Then as you cross hatch be sure to sew at a slow to medium speed because you can push wrinkles into the panel.  Take you time and it will come out great.

Good Luck,

Moguiltgirl, I 'm not sure I have the correct answer ,but if it were me I would outline first . I have only done one quilt panel and it had kids stuff on it  and that was what I did ,it came out ok .
