I now have a design board even if it is a tablecloth it works for me!! It beats using the bed in my sewing room at least that is what I call it. Here is my current project but note I am still a new quilter.

Bev, love your quilt. I also use a table cloth, they work great and are cheap

Very nice Bev, Table cloth works just fine. I too wish I had a wall like that. I have one of those clothes racks that are on wheels and a F&P wall design cloth with the gromets and use shower hooks to hold it in place. It's a small room so it's easy to roll around out of the way.

Marie:

Brigit-Carol, I like them both.  We have colors like the first one in MA, just beautiful and brilliant.

Would you share your method for flying geese?

Thank you.  After sleeping on it overnight, I'm going with the first one for the swap and the second as the hostess block.

As to flying geese, this method makes four at a time and you do have to trim, but I end up with perfect geese each time.  Plus there is much less waste than the regular method where you have to trim triangles off.  It's the first one described in this tutorial.  They go really fast after you get the hang of it.  http://www.connectingthreads.com/tutorials/Flying_Geese-Make_em_fast-two_more_methods__D16.html

Bev - you and I have the same kind of design board.  It works very well for me and the price was certainly right.  Love your quilt.  Is that the MQ 6 design?

Brigit-Carol,

I really like the first one (the star)... I don't think it's too bright.  It's just the colors of Autumn, which I think are rustic.  ... just my opinion.

Good choice Brigit-Carol!  Thank you for the flying geese tutorial, I will try that the next time I have the need.

Today the weather is nasty so I might get a chance to finish my quilt top.  I managed to get 2 blocks done yesterday and only 2 more to go, thank goodness.  I'm running out of the right color fat quarters so any thoughts of making it larger have gone by the wayside, unless I add several borders and I'm not sure if I want to to do that.

Was going to head into Reno today to do some shopping, but with a high wind warning (wind currently at 40 mph with larger gales) and a prediction of possible snow flurries and/or rain, I might just put that off for a day or so.

I need to load some quilt tops on the frame but I'm waiting for my stitch regulator to arrive before I tackle them.  Hoping that will make everything a little easier, at least keep my stitches more even.  Then I will feel a little better about some of my quilts.  Trying to get some of these things done before MQ7...I just can't wait.  I love doing the mystery quilts, although I've only completely finished one of them.

Brigitte-Carol,

This is the mystery quilt from my quilt guild mtg this past week. It just uses the Arkansas Crossroads 12 1/2 inch quilt block.  I did start the MQ 6 and don't remember what it looked like. Wouldn't it be funny if it is the same layout. I am not going to look until I finish this one.

Gee it does look just like MQ6...I've got the top finished, but have yet to get it quilted.  It's just in a stack of the other 25 tops that haven't been quilted yet.  I finally ordered a Q-Bot stitch regulator and am waiting for it to arrive before I start any more quilting.
