gini:
i made my own little paper pieced patterns and there will be applique around it and i don't know what else.

I thought you disliked paper piecing.  I can't imagine removing those itty bitty bits of paper!

good grief, donna, if you can make a table runner like this, art quilts will be a piece of cake.

Donna

Love the table runner and placemats.  I actually have a pattern for a runner like that.  They are really neat.

Thanks guys for all your compliments.  My cousing was visiting in the spring and we went shopping for fabric.  She picked them all out.  It's going to be about 98x98" when done and yes I will quilt it myself.  Still a bit nervous about that.  But with each one I get better and better, so tally ho!

The sew must go on.

Thanks for your kind words, Angele.  My DH asked me if I thought this one was better than the last one.  Of course it is.  I'm learning more and more with each quilt I make.

MNnancy:
I hope your work settles down so you can come chat more often. We've missed you!

Thanks Nancy.  Work is settling down but since I changed teaching positions, I still have lots of materials that I no longer need or use.  And going through all that "stuff" is tedious and I procrastinate 'cause I don't like sorting.  It also feels like I'm giving away pieces of my life for the last 9 years.  I guess I just better suck it up and get 'er done. The quilt is very loved by DGD #2.  She is thrilled she has her own to cuddle and play with. Thanks again for your encouragement.

Your I spy quilt is so pretty.

Thanks Nana.  Coming from you those words mean a lot.  DGD#2 was so thrilled to get her own quilt.  She wouldn't let it out of her sight.

gini:
you have a lovely family

Thanks gini.  DH looks so proud in that picture.  My kids both look just like him.  Even my second GD looks like him. I know what you mean about the beginning of school.  Back to School Night, American Ed. week, conferences, benchmark testing, etc.  It seems I don't get enough time to actually teach the kids.  By November things are more tame.  And this position isn't half as labor intensive as teaching kindergarten, although I miss the dear little beasts. Today is an added blessing as we honor the Jewish high holy days.  Thanks for your kind words.  I have enclosed 2 photos of mini quilts from the Hershey show I thought you would enjoy.  Love your log cabin mini. The tree quilt is only 8 x 10 inches. The other is a whopping 17 x 17 inches.

Agnes:
Mimi--What a treasure. Definitely not slacking in my books.

Thanks Agnes.  You're a dear to send me such kind words.  I'm going to try and get some smaller Christmas gifts off the "To Do" list today.  Keep those positive thoughts coming my way.
