annette, pretty quilt.   you can try to iron as many of the seams as possible to the darker fabric.   once you add the white batt, they won't be quite as noticeable

Hi Patricia Faye, that is a cute quilt I'm sure your gd will love it.  If you are coming to Severn, Md. I'm only about 15 min. away.  Would be nice to meet for a coke or something to put faces to some of our QCA.  If you have time let me know I don't want to take time from your daughters.  I know how I am when I get to go to Ohio to see my gc & dd.  Have a great time and a safe flight.

Annette your quilt is very pretty.  I love pink.  I think a pretty print for the backing would be nice.  But whatever you choose will be pretty and I'm sure your MIL will love it.

Hi Annette!  Welcome to the club.

I wonder once you add batting and backing if your seam allowances will still show.  Your applique plan is good, but hopefully you won't have to worry about it once the quilt is sandwiched and quilted.  Pretty colors and fabrics!

I found an old kit from years ago and made myself a new pin cushion/thread holder.

Patti: do you have a pattern?  that's so cute!

I'm working on my One Block Wonder along with other quilt tops. Then I got distracted by a pin cushion/scrap bag I saw on the internet and stopped what I was doing to make it. The top is felted wool. I don't know if this will help me be tidier and not toss threads and fabric pieces on the floor.

Annette, welcome to the club.  Your quilt is very pretty.  I have found on quilts i do that once the batting and backing is added i can no longer see the seam allowance

Spent the day using batting joining tape to make a piece of batting big enough for my quilt.  I spread the 2 pieces out on the bed and smoothed them together then used my steam iron to join them with the tape.  Worked great.  The hardest part was getting the batting lined up.

Thanks Leslie. I'm going to applique some wool flowers to the top. After looking at it for an hour I decided it needed something to perk it up.

Judy that is cute.  I hope it keeps you organized.  I know my things are all over.  I always end up throwing things alll around to find the cutters, or whatever.  I still can't find the place to just add to the subjects without doing a reply to someone.  I did work on a quilt today.   Yes, yes, yes.  That is twice this week.  Not much just stitch in the ditch on a 1999 Joanne Fabric QBM I had finally gotten layered a couple years ago.  I want to give it to my ds next Christmas.  So today I went to the nursing home and stayed with mom for a while then went to WalMart and bought her new shoes as hers did a disappearing act the 1st week she was there.  Had lunch with my DH and came home and have been working on Mt. Washmore and at the same time working on that quilt.  I'm so excited to quilt again.  It has been about 2 years.  After mom came there wasn't time.  Thanks for listening.
