Thanks also for your advice. I will bring my quilt to the longarmer and see what she says. Hopefully she can work with it.
The best thing about quilting after 30 years is my rotary cutter!!!! My first quilt was for my sister's graduation in 1976. All those little squares and triangles to cut out with a pair of scissors! I can still see it all in piles on the living room floor:). I had no quilt instruction, just a Simplicity pattern.
After that I made a few baby quilts. That was all until now. Oh, I just found out about the walking foot, too. Nice!

Yes, welcome. I can't imagine how they ever got a quilt finished cutting with sissors. :-) I did my first one without a square up ruler and now think 'how did I ever do it'.
Walking foot is good but don't forget that 1/4" foot.

it took a long long time. that's how i started. a wooden yardstick a pencil and scissors.
