Has anyone else ever quilter their leaders to their quilt? I was practing and floated my quilt top which was longer than the backing. Didnt notice and kept on quilting... Lesson learned.

I just purchaced the book hooked on feathers. Anyone have any thoughts on that book?

rshatto,

Haven't done the stitching to the leaders yet, it's still on my to-do-list. I hope I never get to that part. LOL I know that had to be frustrating. Hope you did break a needle. I have run out of backing before so I watch that very closely. If I were to stitch off on the leaders I would be in trouble because I do a lot of pinning when I pin the quilt to the leaders. I kringe just thinking about it.

As for the Hooked on Feathers book, a mess of us quilters here purchased the book a month or so ago. I heard nothing but good things about it. I love it but haven't been able to use the technique on a quilt yet. Hopefully soon.

Also, if we were all to get on a list of "dumb stuff" we have done quilting, there wouldn't be enough room on the site. :-) We all make mistakes. Hopefully we learn from them but then again, some of us, me for instance, enjoyed it so much the first time we do it again.

rshatto,

Hooked on Feathers is a really great book!  I don't want you to feel bad so I will admit I also quilted my quilt to the leaders but I did it at the top1 LOL!
