A question came up a while back about magnets and how close they could be to our electronic machines.  I emailed Husquevarna and this is what they said.

Here is what our Product Developement at R&D has given me as an answer:

Our modern sewing machines have all solid state memories and they are not susceptive to magnetic fields. There shall not be any functional problem to have a magnet next to the machine

No problem to add a magnet!

Happy Sewing!

While this may not be the same with every brand, I plan on using a magnet for my scissors etc as soon as I can find a good one.
