I was trying to make really small (1/4 inch for 1/8 in bias tape) for piping.  I was trying to do it via the continuous bias tape method, and found that it was just too small.  I decided to cut my tape on the straight of grain.  I glued the piping in the bias tape using liquid stitch.  I was pretty gluey, but the piping is staying in and now I can sew it to use it in my project.
