Dorothy:

Title COWBOY CHRISTMAS  Using "old" Daisy Kingdom Fabric Early 90's circa.

I Started this quilt not knowing who it would go to but had much nostalgia over the fabric.  Then it hit me!  the first Grand daughter who came in and recognized the fabric would get the quilt when finished.  It was my oldest Grand daughter (Now 21) who started giggling, got all excited and said she knew the fabric was used to make a long skirt and vest for x-mas when she was about 5 yrs old.  YUP,  she wore that skirt and vest out!  It was made with tiers of this fabric and she would twirl her little heart out.  I was over to her house and folding laundry one nite and saw the skirt was faded and worn.  Her mom asked me to put new elastic in the waist as it was still her favorite.  By then it was up to her knees and a lovely silver grey colour. SHE will definitely get this for x-mas this year.  It should machine quilt beautifully.  I think I might have some lovely horsey/straw like fabric for the back.  That will give it a rich GOLD colour binding.

I loved making this quilt!  Lots of warm fuzzy attached.

Beautiful Dorothy!  Your DGD will love it.  I like the way it looks as though it has a lattice in the middle of a flower garden. A very original way to lay it out!

Sheri A.:

All of the quilts are beautiful!  It's fun to see how different they all look even though we made the same pattern.

Gorgeous Sheri.  Love your border fabric.

Dorothy what a sweet story and the quilt is just gorgeous.  Lucky granddaughter to get a twirly skirt and a quilt out of the same fabric!  :-)

Everyone's quilts are so beautiful.  I still have to put borders on mine and can't decide if I like the fabric I originally chose to use or not.  Everything has been on hold for the last 2 weeks as my MIL passed and we had to have the body shipped to California and travel there for the funeral.

Today I've got the grandsons, since DD2 is working and DSIL has drill for National Guard, so I probably won't get anything done today either.  Oh well, such is life.  At least I have most of the MQ 6 done.

I know exactly what you mean.  I changed my mind about six times.  I think I'm finally set but haven't done a thing about it.  So sorry to hear of your loss.  Your world was turned upside down.  I remember how hard things were when my dad passed and we had two funerals.  One in SC where he lived and one in PA where he is buried.  The quilt will wait and who knows you may be a brilliant idea that you just adore.  Sending you quilty hugs.

okay so I added an inner border using the scrap material that I orginally had hope to use for the border. Then I found more fabric at LQS, I am getting to be much happier with it now. I dont seem to get a picture that does it justice. And am thinking maybe I will add another border, so here it is so far... maybe done or may have more to go
