Marianne Shymanik:

Sandy, I did purchase the kit from Missouri Quilt, is it not appropriate to receive enough fabric to finish a quilt top?  I did not get enough from Missouri to get the appropriate number of blocks.  Isn't this something that is figure out before kits are sold?

Marianne,

Several of the kits shipped the first week they were offered were short approx 1/4 yard on the background fabric.  Of course, that depends on how you cut because I got plenty of squares from the 2 yards I received.  If you will contact MSQ they will send you the the additional fabric.

I have to reply to a comment because I do not have a button to add my own comment.  Can anyone help me with this?

I have just completed step 3.  Cant wait till step 4.  But now it is back to the 15 rag blankets that I am making for the women of our mens, senior softball team, using 81 large rag squares, embroidering the team logo on 17 of the squares to make a diagonal pattern.  A lot of work but the good news is that the profit from just 3 of the blankets paid for the material for this mystery quilt!!!!

Just getting started, it will be a challenge to catch up to you all.  I had a Jelly Roll just waiting to be cut.  I just never thought about cutting it up into 2-1/2 inch squares.  Took quite a while!  That's out of the way.  Hoping to get the 4 patches done tonight.  Background fabric is due to be delivered on Monday.  I'm off work on Tuesday and Wednesday.  If I drink lots of coffee and keep the pedal to the floor... well maybe!

You all have posted some awesome quilts.  I'd say a very talented group of quilters!

Very cool Janet.  I have not had time to catch up on the chat here, been golfing, gardening and sewing.  Is it me or does the 96 squares in step 2 and the 56 squares in step 3 add up to 152 and as we cut 160 squares I have 8 left not 4, will these extra 4 be used somewhere else?  also if I add all the 2-1/2 inch squares, 384+96+96(one on each end)+56 I get 632 not 628 which we were told to cut but I must have goofed somewhere as I still have 30 2-1/2" squares left.  I have recounted my numbers for each step but they are right. so where did I go wrong.
