....well, unless you are stuck in traffic in downtown Dallas where 18 highways (or so it seemed) merge into one.  Didn't care for that stretch of drive at all.  We put on close to 600 miles again today - no quilt shopping, but I spied a shop only 30 miles from where we're staying.  We're in Lago Vista - the shop is in Cedar Park.

We're in this condo at the "Shores of Lake Travis" for the next week.  It was 80 degrees when we arrived, so I guess I can take off my Minnesota clothes now.

It was nice to relax with a cold beer "Austin Amber" and fish tacos at a small grill in town.  A guitarist provided entertainment - his music style was similar to Simon & Garfunkel. Nice!

Looking forward to exploring the area tomorrow and then visiting Debbie-Do in San Antonio on Sunday!

Oh, Nana, thought of you again when I saw this sign in a window...

We must be in the South!

while you're there, you need to practice up on the spicy salsas to better enjoy marlenes green chilis.  i've been on that stretch of freeway in the pouring rain, (we were getting the heck out of dodge ahead of a hurricaine).  have fun in san antonio with debbie and  have a cold beer for me.

Hi Nancy, You weren't far from my Sister and Niece, they are on the outskirts of Dallas, You should of taken a load of big rocks with you,  You could of made some extra fabric money, Because Texas has no big rocks either.   When ever my Niece comes back up to visit she always takes a load of rock back with her lol

I'm so glad you got some good weather to start with!  I was JUST talking to my friend about your visit and  I'm afraid you'll need your umbrella tomorrow and some of those MN clothes!  It's supposed to rain all day and barely hit 50 degrees :o(   ...  I'm sorry Marie... it's not going to be shorts weather.   Market Square should be ok in the rain !  Have fun today!!  See you tomorrow!!!  Woo Hoo !!

This is almost like "Where's Waldo".  :o)

Somehow i could never wrap my mind around a "fish" taco.  What else do you have on your plate there Nancy?  I recognize the beans.

Debbie, at first glance, the Cotton Cupboard shop looks to be close.  Apparently there are no bridges over this lake/river reservoir system we're on.  Here are the driving directions for that shop:http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=embed&hl=en&geocode=%3BCVux3qoZGYMBFXaKzwEdIHsp-il3RsozszBbhjHHW7o6Dh9jlQ&q=1503+n+Ranch+Road+620+lakeway+tx+78734&sll=30.35562,-97.963543&sspn=0.00898,0.019205&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=1503+Ranch+Road+620+N,+Lakeway,+Travis,+Texas+78734&ll=30.446306,-97.955475&spn=0.206593,0.291824&t=m&z=11&vpsrc=6&iwloc=A&daddr=1503+Ranch+Road+620+N,+Lakeway,+TX+78734

38 miles may not sound like much, but this is Texas Hill Country, and the driving is not that easy.  We drove to Marble Falls (28 miles) to find a quilt shop today, but the address that the Quilt Shop Locator app gave came up as an empty lot when we arrived there.  Boo!  Luckily, we had additional plans for things to do in the area.

See you Sunday.  I'm not worried about the weather.  I'm used to much colder!

Edit: Darn. The map is not holding the start point.  Enter 1917 American Dr. Lago Vista TX to see the route it draws!
