Really cute Gini.   I have a couple of Great Grands, that would love it.

kmrchr,

I made two of the checkboard Giraffes - they were relatively easy, took a few evenings to put together, and are completely adorable.  I recommend that you ADD one fat quarter to the fabric requirements on the pattern (if the patterns calls for 1/4 yd, go for 1/2, etc.).  I think the pattern maker has these measurements waaaay too tight.  If you have spare fabric at home, or can pick up inexpensive fat quarters the whole critter is pretty cheap to make!  Definitely recommend that you try one - quite fun to do!  I do these as a break between regular quilting - sometimes you just need to do something that you can finish fast.

Next:  The Curly Sheep!

I'm sorry it took me so long to see your question! I made the zebra and had a really hard time. The instructions are incorrect, REVERSE the instructions for light and dark pattern pieces. I have the giraffe pattern and am getting ready to attempt it, but am a little scared. I'm a quilter, not a seamstress! Good luck!
