How do I figure out the size of "Delectable Mountain" block I would need to go around a border?  (64x64)  Also, once the finished size is figured out - how do I figure the size of the HSTs?  Any help would be appreciated.

http://quiltville.com/delmts.shtml

not so late after all.    if you scroll halfway down the  above page, just above the brown and white renderings of quilts,  it shows how to  make the block.   these are cut on two inch intervals.   you would want your finished blocks to be 8 inches, so you could follow this pattern and cut your strips 1 1/2 inches,   that would give you 8 blocks on a side.   i think this will work fine, but  i would like to have a few more opinions from folks here to see if i'm on the right track.

this is a method that eliminates the need for half square triangles

Thanks, I found this site really helpful.  I've checked Quiltville too.  I guess what I wanted was a chart that would give me different sizes of finished blocks.  Oh, well!  I have tried several starting square sizes and I have about decided on 7 inch squares.  We will see.  thanks for the help.
