The block size is 8 1/2 unfinished.   You can make any kind of block that you like.  Just use "beachy" colors.

I have contacted admin about getting a group set up for retreats.   We will see what they can do for us.

I will see what admin thinks is the best setup.  Maybe just an open group so that anyone doing a retreat can go in and set up what they need.

It is awesome.  I so wanted to go to the one QCA sponsored in Chicago but it was way to pricey.  Having all these smaller ones makes it so much easier for anyone that wants to attend.   And we can even splurge occasionally and go to one of the ones that is way out of our area.

Small is nice.  Look how the participants sort of broke up into smaller groups at the big retreat the Nancy went to.  I have enjoyed the quarterly mini retreats that the LQS has been hosting.  I have gotten to know some great ladies.  I will miss the one in April but they all understand and say that I made the right choice to go to the VA Beach retreat instead.

The advantage of the bigger retreats is that the camp workers handle all the arrangements and cook all meals for you, and there is a teacher on-hand if you want to do her/his project or ask questions.  At these repurposed kid camps, costs are very low, and I'm amazed at how many of these are available within a 90-mile radius of my home.

Still, I have so enjoyed the small QCA retreats we've been having even though getting to them is a bit tougher.  I have learned SO MUCH from fellow QCA members - both online and now meeting in person!

Nana, with great regret, I must request that you take my mom off the list.  She has had some recent turns healthwise and the doctor does not feel it is wise for us to plan on her traveling this distance.  She is disappointed [as am I] but we feel this is for the best.

Please accept my apologies for holding this space when there may be someone else interested.

I still plan to attend (Good Lord willing) but will be alone.

Thanks for all you are doing to coordinate and plan this retreat.

Hope that all have a Blessed Thanksgiving.  Take a moment tomorrow and remember all we have given and thank God for his graciousness.  Even in times of health concerns and sadness, we still have so much to be thankful for.

Wowee!  Just got my fabrics,  they are perfect.   I'm going to make a very simple block just 2 large 1/2 SQ triangles to show off the beautiful beach and companion fabric.   Got me enough to complete a quilt once I get all the blocks.

JMHO, I thinks each retreat should have their own group just as is already set up under groups.

Better yet do it like they do the MQ, one for info another for retreat chit chat?  What say you admin???

What are the dates to this retreat? I know I'm signed up but didn't put it on my calendar. Never thought how difficult it would be to go through 70 pages to find one post. lol

I hope your Mom's health issues aren't anything too serious.  I totally understand her need to stay close to her dr.   Tell her that we would have loved meeting her and hope she feels better really soon.
