I have never quilted before. I have a lot of cute flannel fabric from Joanne's and want to make a baby quilt with it.Does anyone know where I could find any info specific to flannel quilting?
hi kathy, welcome to the group. you don't need to do anything special to quilt flannel. it fuzzes up your bobbin area a little more but it quilts just fine.

Flannel is not that different from using cotton. I use it instead of cotton in baby quilts all the time. I would say just try it.
I've made lots of flannel baby quilts and I agree with Richard. Keep your quilting fairly close together and clean your sewing machine often because you will get a lot of fuzz. It tends to stretch a little more than cotton so be careful when pressing. Other than that, sew and quilt just like you would cotton.
Thanks for the info and the welcome. I will be sure to clean my machine often
I agree with everyone else. I have made several baby quilts with flannel backings and using flannel in the tops. Did not have any particular problems.
