Susan

I have a tote full of old ties that I want to turn into a quilt someday.  It just isn't on my list at the moment.  Always have more quilts on my list than I have time to make.....LOL>

WOW!!

You ladies have sure been busy.

Kris, the DJ blocks are beautiful

Jeanene, Love the bed warmers. I would make some of those but my boys never keep their beds mad.

Eileen, The bargello is stunning. I made one once. That was enough for me. I was commissioned to make it. for my mothers friend. I don't even have a picture of it.

I kind of wore myself out at work today so didn't feel like going back to quilting on MQ2 tonight. Some of the ladies working on The Farmer's Wife Sampler said the blocks only took about 15 minutes to do so I decided to try. I finished the first two. It won't be official until the first of the year, but I needed something quick and easy that would give me some bonding time with my machine. LOL, I am now going to go make myself some hot tea and read the boards for a bit. I'll take pics of the blocks tomorrow and post them to the group.

I am so glad that you tried a couple of the blocks.  I think you will really enjoy this journey with us.  Hope you have a restful evening and feel more energetic soon.

Thanks Nana.  My compaby is moving to a ndw building starting at noon on Dec, 23 so I have been packing up the office. Just tp add to the merriment I have to do statements in the middle of the move. I think I must be part reptile cuz I am really moving slow on these cold days. We are expecting freezing temps for the next couple of nights. That is like sub zero for ya'll. Whine, don't you feel sorry for me? LOL! I'll survive, but I am ready for Spring!

Oh Pat, I am so with you. I hibernate in the winter.  It is snowing and it is all I can do to keep my eyes open, even at work.  I must admit I did turn my sewing machine on today.  I practiced fmq and I think I am getting a good handle on the pattern I want to do in my mq3.

I am also doing 2 more scrub shirts and a lab coat for DH for his birthday/anniversary which is in 2 weeks so that is what I shall be working on.  They will all have Looney Tunes characters embroidered on their pockets.

Pancho only runs out the back door long enough to potty and then comes back in by the fireplace.  He stays nice and warm and comfy.  We keep a fire burning almost all the time once it starts getting cold.  Love the nice warm wood heat....LOL>

Its even cold in Savannah...we have a cold and wind advisory tonight.  I went out this morning this morning to check the fish pond.  So far no frozen fish.  Steve has kept a fire going all day for me, this weather makes my hips hurt.  I've spent most of today lying on the sofa getting roasted by the fire.  Sleep, roast, sleep, roast...that was my day.  Weather should turn warmer by end of the week.  I'm in until then.

Thanks for the pictures and explanations on bedrunners.  Now I see the advantage to using those over a full size bedspread.  Jeanine, yours are very pretty!

Sounds like the cold weather is hitting a lot of us.  So if DH and I are hoping to go somewhere warm for the winters (Dec, Jan, Feb) once I'm retired, what part of the US would be the best bet?

Now they all have

car/truck blankets.

Susan,

What a great idea. These would really be handy to have around and a great recycling idea.
