Welcome back Patti. It is a pain when you lose the internet, but at least you were still able to sew. Looking forward to seeing your MQ3.

Hi All, Hope your having a great Saturday.  I've been playing around with this block, trying to decided if I should use it at my birthday block.

Can't wait to see your quilt when it is finished. These will be heirloom quilts when finished. Something beautiful to pass down through the family.

Kris:

Ms MoomMist:
Yes,Kris "Ladies of the Seas" is very applique' intense, but I found a fabulous secret. I trace all the pieces on to freezer paper, then I use glue stick to fold the seams under before stitching them on the foundation block.

MoomMist,

I use freezer paper sometimes. My problem is that I don't like to trace. If I can print the pattern directly onto freezer paper I find I work faster.

If you use C&T's wash away applique sheets, you can trace or print on them, iron them to your applique piece, glue stick the seams under, and sew your pieces by hand or machine onto each block.  When the quilt is done, toss it in the washing machine and the applique sheets wash away - no paper to cut out!  That's the Beth Ferrier technique I learned this summer.

I finished putting the last rounds on the bear quilt and got them sandwiched.  Got all the stitch in the ditch done and have started the fmq on the last 3 rounds of the quilt.  Hope to get to do more tomorrow.  It is actually coming along pretty good.   Also need to find time to quilt the MQ3 as it is a Christmas gift......

ok, seems that even though I get error messages the messages have come thru.

Aggravating, isn't it?  Has admin posted anywhere why this is becoming such a common problem?

Patti:
Finally got internet back late yesterday.  Tower was down for a week.

Welcome back, Patti!  Was it all the snow that took the tower down?

Kris:

I've been adding sashing to the blocks as I sew them. I'm doing the same with DJ too.

the best laid plans,  i started out sashing as i went,  that didn't last long,    i have about 1/3 half sashed now.       gini
