Jeanine

That is a beautiful quilt and you have done an awesome job on the quilting.  I would have been so nervous quilting one of Marianne Fons' quilts.  You go girl.

I have been a nervous wreck all month about this quilt.  But fortunately I have a very stubborn...determined...nature!

Jeanine, the Quilt of Valor quilt is even more wonderful with your quilting added to it! Kudos to you. The panto was a great design choice!

Thanks, everyone for the congrats & welcome to this group    :-)   I will have my intro to the Crown Jewel on January 5. A friend with a van has offered to transport it for me so I don't have to wait to have it delivered.  I'll post pics once I've got the machine home & settled.

Keep up all the beautiful work you're doing - I'm loving the inspiration!!

I don't know how may of you have seen this, but Spudgrandma was asking about a "red thing" to attach the quilt parts to leader cloths & Elizabeth mentioned the Red Snapper system - here's the post from Spudgrandma's thread:

Elizabeth:

The ones I have heard of are called the Red Snapper system.

Thanks Elizabeth, that is what I was looking for.  Now I need to do a bit more research and see if it will work for me.  Again, Thank You.

I found the web site with your info.......  http://quiltsonthecorner.com/red_snappers

Looks like a nice alternative to pinning :-)

Eileen:
while we were looking at the Baby Lock Crown Jewel on a Majestic frame, DH said (out of the blue), "get it." I looked at him & said, "are you kidding?!" and he said no, get it

Wow, Eileen, that's exciting news!  I knew I liked that guy when I met him in Iowa!  I'll keep reading now to see what else you have posted....

Granny M:
I am 5'9"   my frame is raised so that the needle is just under the breast line and my handles are straight in front of me.

Oh, good, I was hoping to read that someone else thinks that needle should be up much higher.  I'm working on DH to make some modifications to the two tables that the frame rests on.  I can't use the leg lifters that some have recommended because the room is carpeted, and I would worry about stability.   I think it would be better to build up the deck on top of the tables, but I've learned that it is a good idea to let DH come up with his own good ideas.  He's the builder in the family!

MNnancy,

Lucky you, having a handy DH is a really good thing.  I have Black carpet in my studio and the blocks haven't been a problem at all. My husband counter sunk the foot pad into the block. He also did as I requested and put a 3/4 inch smooth surfaced plywood shelf that runns the full length of my machine for storage. This also added to the stability of my frame tremedously! If you would like to friend me, I will send you pic of my studio setup.
