Jeanine,

I don't think the pattern is too big. I think we can do just about any pattern to the Jelly roll race, it's so versatile.

I will post a picture of the photo quilt I finished for my youngest granddaughter.  The quilting is nothing special, lots of SID and some curvy lines and stippling but it was done on the longarm.  I have posted close ups of some of the parts in "Did you work on a quilt today?" but will just post the full picture here.  I guess I need to get my gallery set up also.

Granny M:
Here is a couple of Child's Prayer quilts that I made with the feathers.

Granny M - your prayer quilts are beautiful.  Your quilting looks great - I really need to read the Hooked on Feather's book so I can start practicing.  Great job!

Hey Guys, if you are thinking of doing a jelly roll race, I just did one.  It is unbelievable,   I had won an oversized jellyroll (I think, because the strips were 5 in wide)  I saw the video and thought what the heck, go way to use that up.   Well It took 9 hours from the time I started til I took it off the quilt frame.  Can you believe. since there was only 10 strips, I ended up with a lap size.  Will get picture later this week.

By all means try this, it was really fun.   I am looking for some other jellyrolls to make a different one.

Thank you.  Jump right on this band wagon, they are kind of fun to do.    I have been practicing to do the all over stipple one but so far have not gotten brave enough to try on a quilt yet.   I am going to try on feather heart as I have a BOM that I think it will work well on since the blocks are 12 in.   I am still practiing on paper

Marge P what a pretty quilt! Love it!

I got my Red Snapper system installed on my Gammill tonite. Wore me out getting those flexible "rods" into the leaders. Wow! Teach me to get a 14' table! LOL Once I got those in and started clamping the backing on it took me so little time! I wish I'd done these much sooner! What a huge difference. Since I wore myself out I didn't baste the batting and top on yet....still thinking of floating the top. The one I'm in the process of loading is a crib quilt so wouldn't be a bad one to float....

Thank you for recommending the Red Snapper System ladies! I'm very grateful!

I have to take my Leader Grips off the frame and baste them into the leaders.  they threaded well into the leader casing but there is to much slack so I'm going to take them off the frame and use my DSM and the zipper foot and get in really close.

I wish mine had been easy to thread.....Gammill didn't give me a lot of room in the pocket at the end of the leader....grippy gloves helped a lot!

My tubes were put togeather with shrink tubing and they didn't hold up to the grip part.  I'm going to put them back togeather and stitch both ends of the leader casing to hold them in and sew the casing narrower.  I have acres of room to work on my frame thank heavens.

I haven't done much quilting lately.  Tomorrow morning I leave for a three day weekend with my DH for his 35 high school reunion.  I am really hoping to get a lot of quilting in next week!!  I went to the Omaha quilt show with some friends tonight and had a great time.  I took some pictures that you can view on my blog.  I was really looking at the quilting more than ever!  I took a lot of close up pictures of the quilting so I can be inspired...  http://qftb.blogspot.com/2012/06/omaha-quilt-show-2012.html
