Taking out stitches, unsewing, call it what you like, most if not all of us do it.  A very simple method of removing those threads after using your seam ripper on them  -- lay your fabric on a table and brush those threads away with a fingernail file.  It works like a charm !  A lot of quilt stores even sell them with pictures of sewing machines, spools of thread or flowers on them.  In most cases they cost around $1 and worth every penny.

I'll bet that works better than the lint roller which doesn't really get the embedded threads anyway.
