Hi,
I thought I would take a minute to introduce myself since I am new to this group. My name is Kim McCloskey and I am from Provo, Utah. I have been quilting for many years and am lucky enough to have a room dedicated to sewing and a very supportive husband.
We recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary by going on a cruise to Alaska. While boarding the boat after touring Sitka I noticed that the woman in front of me in line had a bag of batting and some fabric that she had purchased in town. I was able to strike up a conversation based on our shared interest in quilting and we bonded very quickly, trading email addresses on site. She is from Brazil and excited to meet new quilters wherever she goes.
This hobby of ours has many benefits, the opportunity to meet wonderful people with a shared interest, the relaxation we get from the rhythm of sewing, the chance to share our work with those we love, and the creative spark we get each time we design a piecing pattern, choose our fabric colors, or plan the quilting design, among others. I am grateful to be part of the quilting community.

Welcome, Kim! Glad you've joined us.
Your anniversary cruise sounds fun. I hear Alaska by cruise is beautiful. DH and I met another QCA member (Rose) & her husband from Brazil when they were in the Chicago area - it would be funny if it was the same person.
You're certainly right about quilting having its benefits. Many QCA members have managed to meet up & then share their stories with us - it's great fun.
Hope you like QCA :-)
Welcome Kim. I think Wendy is from Utah also but don't trust my memory. :o) Glad you have joined in our fun.

EAT!! SLEEP !! QUILT!!
I may have to start wearing a tag that says "I Quilt" when I travel. That would be lighter than a bag of goodies. Welcom!!
Welcome, Kim!
