Hi my name is Kristen. I've been quilting for about two years now, but just recently joined the QCA. My mother was a quilter and growing up she would always push for my sister and I to learn. I was never interested in putting plain blocks together. While looking for a gift for a baby shower, I came across a super sweet quilt kit with an unusual block construction and was intrigued. I bought it, pulled out an old sewing machine and went to work. From that point forward, I have discovered a world beyond my mother's standard 6 inch blocks and I am in love. Every day I look forward to trying new things and am always looking for new inspiration.
Within the last year a debilitating medical condition put me on permanent disability from my paralegal career and I have sinced started a little webstore to sell all the quilts I make that I don't give as gifts or donate.
I have posted pictures of quite a few of my favorite quilts in my gallery.
Welcome, Kristen! Sorry to hear about your disability but it sounds like you're making great use of your time with quilting!
